The juggling act

You may notice that my previous - and only - blog post was quite a while ago. Where I stated I was going to attempt to post weekly... insert nervous emoji.

General motherhood on top of some new endeavors have taken up most of my time and having mostly put scraps & such co. on the back burner since moving has me in the habit of forgetting it's still here. As painful as that is to admit to myself and everyone else.

I love sewing

I love having a creative outlet

I love the community

But I'm still figuring out how to piece it back into my life after almost a year long hiatus. Where do I start? How do I come back? A full on curated collection is more than I'm willing to take on right away. I've thought about just sewing what makes me happy, bringing my notebook of ideas to life one piece at a time and listing each item. There's got to be a happy medium.

It's been a year since I've been in a market so maybe that's where I start. Our new neighborhood hosts a monthly market from September to May and I've been considering signing up for it. Finding time to build an inventory back up - even a small one - is hard to fit into my already busy schedule. Maybe I'll work myself into the habit of sewing 5 items a week. But first, I've got to tackle my fabric stash... It's quite out of hand!

Texas is HOT right now and I've been antsy to sew some more Retro Shorties so I think I'll start there this week. They are just so cute with their little pockets! Pictures promised in the next post
